Matheson Donald Knapp, a 19-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Tuesday June 6, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident, west of Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday June 12, 2017 at Union (Coon Creek) Baptist Church, west of Trenton, with Rev. Doug Crawford, Bro. Ron Ward, Rev. Gary Lanning, Rev. Marc Knapp, and Matt Arthaud officiating.
Burial will be in Coon Creek Cemetery at Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Trenton.
Matheson was born on Oct. 23, 1997, the son of Michael Donald and Sherry Yvonne Stoops Knapp. He was home-schooled for 12 years, then received a welding certificate from North Central Missouri College. He was currently employed at ConAgra Foods as highlift driver and was a member of the Coon Creek Baptist Church.
His survivors include his parents, Mike and Sherry Knapp of the home; one sister, Maerissa Knapp of Karen, Kenya; maternal grandparents, Larry and Barbara Stoops of Trenton; his special girl, Echo Edmondson of Trenton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Elnora Knapp; and great-grandparents, Olen and Mae Wilford, Virgil and Lois Jean Stoops, George and Dorothy Chrisman and Homer and Ethel Knapp.
Memorials are suggested to the Coon Creek Cemetery or a mission scholarship through the North Grand River BSU at Trenton. They may be left at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton, which is in charge of arrangements.
