Communications Officer Charley Orndorff has been chosen as the Trenton Police Department’s May 2017 SIL Award Winner. Ms. Orndorff was chosen by her peer for her hard work, dedication and willingness to go the extra mile. Police Chief Tommy Wright said Ms. Orndorff “is a team player who is always willing to help her fellow dispatchers and officers.” SIL is an acronym for Service, Integrity and Leadership, which is part of the Trenton Police Department’s creed and mission. Next month, Ms. Orndorff will make a nomination for the award based on her observations of one of her peers who have went over and above in one of those areas. That peer will then receive the same accolades as Ms. Orndorff did in May and will be responsible for the nomination for the next month. Chief Wright encourages anyone who observes a Trenton Police officer who goes over and above the call of duty to contact him so that the officer can receive recognition for it.
