Chronic Disease Course

The Grundy County Health Department, University of Missouri Extension and the Regional Arthritis Center are teaming up to host a chronic disease self management course at the North 65 Center.
Abby Oberman, health educator at the health department, and Tyler Hall, nutrition and health education specialist with extension, will teach the course, which begins on Wednesday, June 14 and will continue from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through July 26. There will be no class on July 5.
The purpose of the workshop series is to help equip participants with the tools to set doable goals, make daily tasks easier, find support/solutions for problems, reduce symptoms of pain and fatigue, work in partnership with a health care team, relax and manage stress and make decisions pertaining to health care, with the goal being to help participants better manage their chronic disease.
Those interested in the class are asked to pre-register by calling the health department at 359-4196.
