Sarah Ishmael, a 61-year-old resident of Gallatin, died on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday June 1, 2017 at Olive Baptist Church near Gallatin. Burial will be at the Clear Creek Cemetery near Jamesport.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. General visitation begins at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Mrs. Ishmael was born on Nov. 20, 1955 in Trenton, the daughter of Owen and Shirley Waterbury Henderson. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1973 and attended two years at Trenton Junior College. She was married on April 8, 1972 at Gallatin to Jim Ishmael. The couple made their home on a farm east of Gallatin, where she lived all her married life. She began her working career at the First National Bank in Gallatin, now the Farmers Bank, as a teller and was employed at the bank and dedicated 27 years.
She was a member of the Jamesport Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Olive Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in the garden, tending her flowers, and was an avid fan of her hummingbirds. She enjoyed attending cattle shows to support her children and grandchildren in their projects.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Ishmael of the home; two sons, Jason Ishmael and his wife, Sara and Aaron Ishmael; her mother, Shirley Henderson all of Gallatin; four grandchildren, Mattison, Trenton, Payton and Tye Ishmael; a step-grandson, Isaac Meyer; and numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clear Creek Cemetery in care of McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin.
