The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics was held Wednesday morning in Trenton, with runners taking to the streets carrying the torch for the Missouri Special Olympics Summer Games. The event is held each year in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics as the organization prepares for its summer games, being held this year June 2-4. Those participating in this year’s run through Trenton included the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Trenton Police Department, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the Daviess County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the Missouri Department of Corrections.
