Laredo Home Destroyed In Fire

May 15, 2017 | Headline News

A Laredo home was destroyed in a fire late Saturday night, with the cause of the blaze undetermined.
According to Laredo Fire Protection District Chief Kenneth Meeker, the house, located at 309 E. Third St., was a total loss. Meeker said a neighbor noticed the fire shortly before midnight and it was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene. While the cause is undetermined, Meeker said it appears the fire started on the north side of the house, with the most damage being located in the area where circuit breakers were located. The house was owned by David Southwick and no one was home at the time of the blaze, which kept firefighters on the scene for about four hours. They have also returned to put out “hot spots.”
