B. “Marie” Clark, an 82-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died away on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the St. Columban’s Catholic Cemetery in Chillicothe.
A parish Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the funeral home, with a family visitation to follow. General visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clark was born on June 14, 1934 in Grundy County, the daughter of Gard Lewis and Loretta Marilla Herbert Shaw. She lived most of her life in Grundy and Livingston counties. She attended Trenton schools and was interested in music. She and her brother, Don Shaw, competed in local talent shows. She was a mother and homemaker and later worked at The Jenkins Home for Girls and Boys for 11 years until it closed. She was employed for 16 years by Community Options, assisting in the homes of developmentally disabled clients before retiring in 2007.
She was a member of St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Wynne Clark and his wife, Karen of Springfield, Missouri, and Michael L. Clark and his wife, JoEllen of Chillicothe; one daughter, Sherry Hecker and her husband, Bobby of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; three nieces, Cathy Terziz and her husband, Vince of Kansas City, Charlotte Hoskins of Trenton, and Carol Schmidt and her husband, Mark of Chillicothe; and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herbert L., Charles and Donald Shaw; and one sister-in-law, Sylvia Shaw.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bishop Hogan Memorial School and/or the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
