Helen Arlene Hansen, a 76-year-old resident of Lexington, died on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Shirkey Nursing Home in Richmond.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the home of Randall and Beth Hansen, 712 South Business 13 in Lexington.
Mrs. Hansen was born on Aug. 24, 1940 in Galt, the daughter of R. Leon and Geraldine Carver Davis. She married Merlin G. “Mert” Hansen on Jan. 24, 1960 in Galt. She worked as an assistant preschool teacher at the Presbyterian Church in Lexington. She also was a Girl Scout leader for many years in Lexington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington.
Mrs. Hansen is survived by her husband; her children, Debbie Carter and her husband, Bob of Richmond and Randall Hansen and his wife, Beth of Lexington; her brother, Jerry Davis of Brimson; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sharon Whitney.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, “Relay for Life, Ray/Lafayette County,” the Shirkey Hospice or the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
