Velda Schelp, a 77-year-old resident of Emma, died on Friday, April 7, 2017, at I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs with Rev. Dan Wing officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Emma.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.
Mrs. Schelp was born on Oct. 23, 1939, in Grundy County, the daughter of Lee and Esther Smith Stottlemyre. She was married on June 17, 1955 to Donald L. Robb, who preceded her in death on July 24, 1976. She was married on May 28, 1988 to Leland E. Schelp. who survives of the home.
She had lived in Emma since 1988, moving from Trenton, and worked at Modine Manufacturing, Lutheran Good Shepherd Home and Mail Wright. She was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, Leland, she is survived by three children, Dennis Robb and his wife, Barbara of Trenton, Steven Robb and his wife, Tuesday of Chillicothe and Darla Stiles of Kirksville; two stepsons, Mark Schelp of Concordia and Tim Schelp and his wife, Charlotte of Sweet Springs; two grandchildren, Dane Stiles and Deri Stiles; five step-grandchildren, Haley Schelp, Courtney Schelp, Robin Meyer and her husband Jon, Breanna Schelp and Brooke Smith and her husband, Sam; three step-great-grandchildren, Kayson, Layne and Adley Meyer; two brothers, Bob Stottlemyre of Kirksville and Kenny Stottlemyre and his wife, Sandy of Unionville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
