The North Central Missouri College men’s baseball and women’s softball team were in action over the weekend, with the men taking on State Fair Community College in a pair of games at home on Saturday as well as two more on the road on Sunday. The women, meanwhile, hosted Crowder College on Saturday and traveled to St. Charles Community College on Sunday.
NCMC Men
Saturday’s contest at home saw NCMC’s men defeated State Fair in game one, 10-0 in six innings, while the Pirates dropped game two, 5-4. On Sunday, State Fair returned the favor, delivering an 11-0 win over NCMC in game one and an 11-1 decision over NCMC in game two.

NCMC Women
Saturday’s games against Crowder College saw NCMC fall in both contests, 8 and 7-1. The Lady Pirates split Sunday’s doubleheader, falling 5-2 in game one against St. Charles before coming back to take a 6-3 win.
In Saturday’s matchup, NCMC collected eight hits in game one, led by Rachel Balke, who collected two hits and drove in two runs. Kelly Warford picked up an RBI on one hit as did Jessica Stupar. The losing pitcher was Allison Hilsabeck, who yielded eight runs (six earned) on eight hits. She also walked five.
In game two, Aubrey Nelson drove in NCMC’s only run with one hit. Balke and McKinley Hurley each had two hits on the day. Stupar took the loss on the mound, giving up three runs in just two and one-thirds inning of work. Warford finished up the game.
Sunday’s first game saw Jaclyn Weydert drive in two runs to lead the Lady Pirates. Weydert and Gibler each had two hits. Kelly Warford took the loss for NCMC, giving up five runs on five hits while walking four and striking out eight.
In NCMC’s only win of the weekend, Hurley, Bethany Jacobsen, Gibler and Balke each had two hits, with Gibler driving in two runs. The winning pitcher was Hilsabeck, who gave up just three runs, two earned, on five hits. She also struck out six while walking three.
