Ralph Ervin Wheelbarger, 78, died on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Wright Memorial Hospital at Trenton.
No services are planned at this time. The family requests persons take a moment to remember the fond memories they had with Mr. Wheelbarger. Burial will be in the May Cemetery at Chula at a later date.
Mr. Wheelbarger was born at home in Dawn on Jan. 17, 1939, the son of William and Imogene R. Cooper Wheelbarger Haynes. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1957. He was employed at Lambert Glove Factory for 39 years. He later was employed in the maintenance department at the Crossroads Correctional Center, from where he retired due to health issues. He enjoyed gardening as well as hunting and fishing with his friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was married on May 11, 1958 at the Presbyterian Church in Chula to Patricia Ann Bigelow, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two daughters, Jennifer Miller and her partner, Danny Williams of Chula and Sherri Wheelbarger and her partner, Eugene McCann of Brookfield; a grandson, Adam Miller and his wife, Megan of O’Fallon; two granddaughters, Tylee Wheelbarger of Chillicothe and Abby Maher of Monroe City; great-grandchildren, Austin Dewey, Anna Dewey and Kerrigan Miller; a brother, William Leon Wheelbarger and his wife, Christel of Cantonment, FL; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Rader of Gillette, WY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louetta Rader.
Memorials are suggested for the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation-Northwest Region or to Festival of Lights at PO Box 1032, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
