Man Ticketed Following Two Accidents

Mar 31, 2017 | Accidents

A Trenton man was ticketed for his involvement in two accidents on March 25.
According to Trenton Police Officer Ethan Wyant’s accident report, the first accident occurred when a car driven by Tristan Vencill of Trenton was northbound on Oklahoma Avenue and turned westbound into the circle drive at Trenton Middle School/Trenton High School. He went halfway through the circle drive and then drove over the curb into a grassy area. He then drove eastbound, leaving an oil trail, before turning northbound and driving over another curb and striking a “no parking” sign. Vencill then traveled westbound through the circle drive, entering into the THS parking lot and then left the scene, traveling northbound on Normal Street and making a left turn onto 17th Street.
According to Sgt. Larry Smith’s report, Vencill then traveled westbound on 17th Street. He said that as he was approaching Harris Avenue, a gold van pulled in front of him, causing him to swerve to avoid a collision. His vehicle traveled off the roadway, striking an embankment, then a tree, in a yard at 918 E. 17th Street. The vehicle, which sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene, came to rest prior to striking the residence.
Vencill sustained an injury to the nose area, but refused medical transport after the Grundy County Ambulance was called to the scene.
Vencill was ticketed for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and careless and imprudent driving by leaving the roadway and striking a fixed object.
