Grundy County residents have assisted with relief efforts for farmers in Kansas who have been ravaged by recent grass fires in that state. Danny Westcott of Trenton hauled a load of donated hay to Clark County, KS on Monday as part of those efforts. The Missouri Cattleman’s Association is coordinating the donations with this particular load being donated by Marc Zell of Meadville. Westcott donated his time and truck and MFA Oil, Co. assisted with the fuel costs. Westcott took his load to Ashland in Clark County, KS, where over 89 percent of the county was burned, destroying 31 homes, 4,000 miles of fence and hundreds of livestock. Westcott said that local residents Aaron Bunnell and Zane Jones also delivered relief truckloads to Kansas last week.
