The Trenton DAWGS traveled to Ft. Leonard Wood for the Special Olympics State Indoor Games March 17-19 to compete in bowling and basketball. In attendance were over 1,000 bowlers and 150 basketball teams from all across the state. The Knockout DAWGS and 3 DAWG Nite both won gold medals in their division to remain undefeated in basketball and bring home the state championship. There were over 1,000 soldiers who volunteered to help with the event which is always a favorite of the athletes. While on base, the athletes got to visit much of the military equipment that is parked in the grass areas and Coach Jim Rash (retired Air Force) told them what the purpose of each piece of equipment serves in time of war and peace. The teams are coached by Jamie Buzzard, Jim Rash and Judy Rash.
