Vena Mae Clapham, a 90-year-old resident of Unionville, died on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Princeton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in Princeton.
Mrs. Clapham was born on Oct. 2, 1926 in Spickard, the daughter of Bertie Laverne and Lena O. Covey Boatman. She was married on Aug. 22, 1942 at Chillicothe to Coda Carrol Clapham, who preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1990. The couple lived on a rural farm southeast of Princeton for 58 years.
She enjoyed bowling, having belonged to several bowling leagues and going to state bowling tournaments. She could play piano by ear and sew making up her own patterns.
Survivors include a daughter, Paulette (Lloyd) Saville of Unionville; two sons, Woody (Mary) Clapham of Unionville and Jackie (Ronna) Clapham of Princeton; 11 grandchildren, Tammy (Bob) Horn, Sarah (Michael) Bothke, Kevin (Terri) Saville, Chad (Jamie) Saville, Cory Saville, Melissa (Steve) Smythe, Shannon, Sean, Scott and April Clapham and Angela (Matt) Briegel; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Middleton, Verla Harlan and Jean Clapham; and many nieces and nephews.
She preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Mary Olive George; and brother, Jack Boatman.
