“Aunt Helen” enjoyed taking care of her home, feeding the birds, and listening to croaking frogs. She spent many hours outside swinging and listening to the birds in her “Pontiac” that her husband, Jim, built for her. Her most cherished memories were taking care of her great-nephews, Chet and Jacob. She told them to always remember their “crazy Aunt” and to not forget her two favorite sayings, “you ain’t jokin’,” and “glad you got to see me!” Aunt Helen, we are all glad we got to see you. We love you and will miss you greatly.”
Survivors in addition to her husband include a brother, Dick (Sandy) Greene of Branson; a sister, Patty Higgins of Trenton; nephews, Rick (Barbara) Ellsworth, Bill (Theresa) Ellsworth and Bob, Joe, and Dick Greene; a niece, Dee Greene; great-nephews, Chet and Jacob Ellsworth; and a great-niece, Erin Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Woody Barnett; and a niece, Earlene (Danny) Hunter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Health Department and/or Princeton Cemetery in care of Rick Ellsworth, 28614 Hwy. A, Princeton, MO 64673.
