The Grundy County Commission accepted bids for several items during the morning portion of its meeting on Tuesday.
According to information provided by Grundy County Clerk Betty Spickard, the commission accepted two bids for mowing. Kevin Klinginsmith was awarded the bid for mowing of the courthouse ($40 per occurrence), the law enforcement center ($25),the prosecutor’s office ($20) and the road and bridge barn ($78.50). Greg Coon and Sarah Spencer were awarded the bid for mowing of the Bethel ($90), Wynne ($30) and Sires ($35) cemeteries. Coon only submitted bids for the cemeteries and Klinginsmith and A+ Mowing submitted the same bids as Coon. Klinginsmith’s bid for the other four sites was the lowest of the three submitted for those sites, with A+ and Brewer and Ireland also submitting bids.
The commission also accepted a bid from Norris Quarries, LLC for CART rock at $11.35 per ton and from Oden Enterprises for steel at $156,316. Wahoo was awarded the concrete bid at a cost of $116 for eight-bag concrete and $99 for five-bag concrete. Norris and Wahoo submitted the only bids for their items, while Oden submitted the lowest of three bids for steel.
