Missouri National Guard Adjutant General Steve Danner will be in Trenton on Saturday to participate in the deployment ceremonies for the 548th Transportation Company.
Danner is one of several state officials invited to take part in the event, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus. Members of the 548th Transportation Company, which is based in Trenton, will be deploying to Kuwait for a year-long assignment, providing ground transportation for dry and refrigerated containerized cargo and other breakbulk cargo, ammunition and bottled water as well as convoy security for military assets and civilian trucks.
Family, friends and community members are invited to attend the ceremonies. Following the event, guard members will be transported back for additional training before being deployed.
The KCC has announced plans to be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, then close at noon until 3 p.m. for the ceremony.
