Deployment ceremonies for members of the 548th Transportation Company of the Missouri National Guard, based at Trenton, will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 at the Ketcham Community Center.
According to information provided by the National Guard, the ceremony is open to all family members, friends and the general public. The unit, which has been in training since just after the first of the year, will be leaving after the ceremony for a final session of training before heading out for a one-year deployment overseas.
The local unit will provide ground transportation for dry and refrigerated containerized cargo and other breakbulk cargo, ammunition and bottled water as well as convoy security for military assets and civilian trucks.
