Congratulations to the Trenton Lady Bulldogs basketball team for their Class 3 quarterfinal win over Kansas City Southeast High School on Saturday.
This victory allows the Lady Bulldogs to compete in the Class 3 State Tournament in Columbia, beginning on Thursday, March 9. Trenton will play Whitfield High School at noon at the Hearnes Center in Columbia.
The Trenton R-9 School District wants to give all Bulldog fans an opportunity to attend the game, so classes have been cancelled for Thursday. A make-up day for school will be released at a future date.
The district would also like to make the community aware that depending on the outcome of Thursday’s game, the schedule for Friday, March 10, may be affected. This information will be released after Thursday’s game.
Pep Bus: The Trenton R-9 School District and the Trenton Booster Club are sponsoring a student pep bus for both Trenton games. The first game will be at noon on Thursday with the second game being either 4:15 on Friday or 4:30 on Saturday depending on Thursday’s outcome.
Student tickets must be paid for when signing up for the pep bus in the high school office on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The price for tickets will be $18 and will cover the admission for both days and will be distributed as the students exit the bus at the event. Refunds will not be available after the student has signed up and paid. This will provide safe and affordable transportation for students in grades 9-12 to attend this event.
School officials are encouraging students to take advantage of this opportunity. More information is available through the high school office at 660-359-2291.
Tickets: The district will be selling tickets to the tournament beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7. Tournament attendees can also purchase tickets at the event, but pre-purchasing tickets will speed up the admission process in Columbia. The price of a ticket is $9 per session. For questions, persons can contact the district office at 660-359-3994.
Show-Me Showdown T-Shirts: The Trenton Booster Club is selling Lady Bulldog t-shirts. Orders can be made in person at the Trenton R-9 District Office, or by phone (359-3994) until 4 p.m. today.
Shirts will cost $10 and will be ready for pick-up on Wednesday in the THS commons from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
