The Pleasant View R-6 fifth and sixth grade basketball season is under way. The Blue Jays have played in a trio of match-ups so far this year, facing off with Grundy R-5, Laredo and Newtown-Harris.
Against Grundy, Pleasant View won the girls game 22-2 behind eight points each from Krista Wilson and Jena Harris, but fell 22-10 in the boys game. Remi Olmstead and Kiefer Tolson each had four points for the Pleasant View boys. Grundy, meanwhile, got two points from Adysan Rains in the girls’ contest and 12 points from Corbyn Axtell in the boys’ game.
Against Laredo, Pleasant View lost the girls game 14-9, but won the boys match-up 20-7. Wilson had four points to lead the Pleasant View girls and Tolson had eight for the boys, which also got six from Andrew Huffstutter. Laredo got four points each from Emma Thompson and Kenzie Lynch in the girls game and Thompson had four points in the boys game as well. Peyton Moore added three points for the Laredo boys.
Against Newtown-Harris, Pleasant View won the girls game 17-4, getting six points from Wilson and four each from Harris and Makina Limkemann. The Pleasant View boys, meanwhile, fell 16-13 with Hunter Limkemann leading the Blue Jays with six points. Newtown got two points each from Christina Howard and Breanna Veach in the girls game and six points from Johannes Oaks in the boys’ contest.
