The Kirksville Tigers were named the NCMC High School Holiday Hoops Boys’ Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2016 edition of the event. Kirksville was honored with the award during their final home game of the season last week. Making the presentation to Kirksville Coach Tyler Martin, his staff and the Tigers were Hoops committee members Ron Dougan, Steve Perry, Mitch Dougan and Steve Maxey. Ron Dougan is the award sponsor while Perry was the team host for the Tigers at Holiday Hoops. Maxey is the Hoops director. By winning the boys award, Kirksville became the first school in the Holiday Hoops history to win both sportsmanship awards. Kirksville won the girls’ sportsmanship award in 2009.
