The Spickard R-2 Board of Education met on Monday night, approving the school calendar and hearing a financial report.
Superintendent Burnie Schneiderheinze said the 2017-18 calendar was approved, with a start date of Wednesday, Aug. 23 and an ending date of Wednesday, May 9. He reported to the board that local tax money is coming in and seems to be on track, with the budget looking like it will “fall even” for the year. Approval was given to a basic health screening package for employees and bids are to be taken for the AHERA three-year asbestos reinspection. Attendance for the year was reported at 96 percent.
An executive session was held for personnel and a student matter.
The next board meeting will be held on Monday, March 20.
