The Laredo Board of Aldermen met on Monday night, approving several ordinances.
According to information provided by City Clerk Ashley Boren, ordinances for new water and sewer rates were revised. The new water rate is $48 for the first 1,000 gallons used and $10.50 for each 1,000 gallons used afterward. Sewer rates are $30 for the first 1,000 gallons and $5 for each 1,000 gallons used afterward.
The council approved the 2017 budget, which shows a combined net income projected at $373.80 for the year. The budget includes general, sewer, water, street and trash expenditures. An ordinance was also approved, setting the salary for Mrs. Boren at $13.06 per hour, which represents a 3 percent increase.
The next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13.
