Building Burned To The Ground

A building that was being used to house lumber was destroyed in a Saturday night fire.
According to the Trenton Fire Department, the blaze occurred in a building behind ConAgra Foods that was being used to house lumber for Peyton-Roberts Roofing. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to two adjoining buildings. No injuries were reported in the blaze, which kept firefighters on the scene for about four hours. No cause of the fire has been determined. Both Trenton city and Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District firefighters responded to the scene.
Rural firefighters were also called to a fire early this morning south of Trenton on Highway 65. A tractor caught fire while in a machine shed and although firefighters responded, the owner of the tractor had extinguished the blaze by the time they arrived. The tractor was damaged, however, the shed did not sustain any damage. No cause has been determined.
