Spickard Council Meets

The Spickard City Council met on Monday night, moving forward with action on equipment parked on city property and discussing the April 4 election.
According to information provided by City Clerk Mary Exley, council member Betty Lee is to contact an attorney to see what the city’s options are regarding repossession of equipment that has been parked on city property for 28 months. The equipment would be taken in lieu of money owed for rent, which the city has requested from the equipment owner.
The council discussed the upcoming city election, in which the mayor’s position and two council seats are to be filled. In addition, a ballot issue giving the city an option of not having elections but every six years if no one runs against people already in office will also be voted on by residents.
The next meeting of the council will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13 at Spickard City Hall.
