Juna G. Wortz, a 95-year-old resident of East Moline, IL and former Trenton resident, died on Sunday morning, Jan. 22, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan, 28, 2017 at the Church of the Nazarene in Trenton with Rev. Steve Bramblett officiating. Burial will be at Lemons Cemetery at Lemons.
A family visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Wortz was born on Sept. 18, 1921 in Lemons, the daughter of Hemerly William and Flora Belle Toney Irelan. She attended Victory School in Putnam County and graduated from Lemons High School. She lived on a farm near Powersville before moving to Trenton, then moving to East Moline.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Trenton.
She was married on Jan. 20, 1941 in Unionville to William Clark Wortz, who preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 2009.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Grimes and her husband, Cecil of Moline, Jeanne Godsey and her husband, David of Tulsa, OK and Judy Mullins and her husband, David of Kirksville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Wortz; four sisters, Dorothy Collins, Pauline Neighbors, Wanda Daniel and Helen Bear; two brothers, Lowell Irelan and Darrell Irelan; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Mullins.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Nazarene and may be left at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton, which is in charge of arrangements.
