Helen Opal Gamet, an 89-year-old Princeton resident, died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017 at Pearl’s Eden for Elders at Princeton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at the United Methodist Church at Princeton. Burial will follow in the Ravanna Cemetery at Ravanna.
General visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at the Roberson Funeral Home in Princeton. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mrs. Gamet was born on Feb. 7, 1927 in Ravanna, the daughter of Paul Alvin and Opal Jailey Klinginsmith Weaver. She was married on Feb. 4, 1946 in Princeton to William R. Gamet, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Gamet was a 1945 graduate of Princeton High School and after graduation attended Chillicothe Business School. For three years, she worked for Mercer County Superintendent of Schools. She was also a co-owner of Big G grocery store. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Princeton, BY Chapter of PEO, Mothers Club, where she was “Mother of the Year,” Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors in addition to her husband are a son, Phillip Bruce (Nancy) Gamet of Princeton; a daughter, Terrilee (Fred) Stinson of Gunnison, CO; three grandchildren, Nicole Lee Stinson of Arvada, CO, Nathan Philip (Katrina) Gamet of Trenton and Jarin Easter (Audrey) Gamet of Kansas City; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Ann, Avery Jane and Becket Lynn Gamet; and cousin, Joan Eller of Great Bend, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an aunt, Goldie Kelley; and an uncle, Fred Klinginsmith.
