Georgie E. Griffin, an 82-year-old resident of Laredo, died on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2017 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
A memorial service will be held later. The body was cremated under the direction of Slater Funeral Home of Trenton.
Mr. Griffin was born on April 14, 1934 in Cainsville, the son of George Henry and Lucy May Wright Griffin. He attended Cainsville schools. Before retiring he was employed as a janitor at S.M. Rissler Elementary School in Trenton. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Air Force.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Trenton.
He was married on Nov. 1, 1991 in Brunswick to Sandra S. Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra of the home; two daughters, Sonya McCulley and her husband, Joel of Trenton, and Michelle Griffin of Trenton; and one son, George E. Griffin Jr. of Charleston, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
