Elisha G. Meeker, an 83-year-old resident of Seattle, WA, died on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 after a brief illness.
Mr. Meeker was born on Oct. 27, 1933 in Osgood, the son of Alvia “Doc” and Trena Paulson Meeker. He attended school in Osgood and joined the Navy at age 17. While in the Navy from 1952-56, he served on the carrier USS Hancock. After his discharge, he married Elizabeth “Marilyn” Koria of Seattle, where they made their home until his death. He enjoyed country and bluegrass music and was well known for his ability to play numerous musical instruments.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Mark (Virginia) of Chandler, AZ and Mike (Sharon) of Pacific, WA; three grandchildren, Destiny, Kelly and Jonathan of the state of Washington; one brother, Marvin (Sondra) Meeker of Trenton; two sisters, Mary (Bernie) Munday of Trenton and Martha (Chuck) Leasor of Laredo; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of the Osgood and Trenton area.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Durinda; his parents; three brothers, Eldon, Alvia and Martin Meeker; and two sisters, Avis Eastwood and Betty Meeker.
