Dec 16, 2016 | Headline News

Submitted Photo The Community Action Partnership of North Central Missouri recently donated $500 to the Trenton Police Department’s “Shop with a Cop” program. The program is designed to break down the barriers between police and youth in foster care, by providing a positive interaction with the police officers, and to assist these children in their time of need during the Christmas season. On a select date, officers and dispatchers from the TPD will go Christmas shopping with these children, who will be able to purchase gifts for themselves and others. This will be the fourth year that police department has conducted the Shop with a Cop program. Police Chief Tommy Wright said the program is possible due to the generous donations of businesses and individuals within the community. Anyone wishing to donate to the program is encouraged to contact the TPD by calling 660-359-5557 or by emailing Chief Wright at twright@trentonmo.com.
