H. Eugene Stamper, an 87-year-old former resident of Spickard, died on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Doug Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Spickard Masonic Cemetery at Spickard.
A family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stamper was born on Oct. 29, 1929 in Spickard, the son of Froman and Arlie Frances Nichols Stamper. He attended Spickard schools. After working many years at International Harvester in East Moline, IL and before retiring, he was a self-employed truck driver.
His survivors include two daughters, Jeania Hobbs and her husband, Duane of Princeton and Maxine VanWyck of Chicago, IL; two sons, James Stamper and Bill Stamper, both of Princeton; four sisters, Betty Consolover of St. Joseph, Pauline Smith of Lee’s Summit, Colen Davis of Chillicothe and Linda Sweany of Olathe, KS; three brothers, Jack Stamper of Lee’s Summit, Ben Stamper of Spickard and Gary Stamper of Rayville; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inis Stamper; his parents; and one sister, Dixie Lewis.
