Mercer Girls 73, Green City Girls 41
The Mercer girls picked up yet another win on Tuesday night, hosting and defeating visiting Green City. Mercer used a 21-6 first-quarter run to set the tone and outscored the Gophers in all four frames.
Bailey Owens led Mercer (3-0) with 34 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals. Lindsay Wyatt had 15 points, six assists and three steals and Nicole Kost finished with 10 points, five assists and 12 steals.
Mercer Boys 53, Green City Boys 35
The Mercer boys followed suit, using a 30-17 first half run to build a lead that would never be in jeopardy in the second.
Cash Hartley had 16 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks to lead Mercer (2-1) and Camden Hartley added 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Bryer Noe had nine points, eight steals and three assists.
Mercer’s teams will return to the floor on Friday night, traveling to Princeton to take on their in-county rivals.
Princeton Girls 46, North Harrison Girls 41
The Princeton girls scored a home victory on Tuesday night, defeating visiting North Harrison. Princeton trailed throughout the first half, but used a 13-1 run in the third quarter to reverse the game’s momentum. Princeton was able to hang on in the fourth, taking the game by five points.
Payton Goodin and Jaelyn Thomas each scored 15 points to pace the Lady Tigers (2-3). Vivian Allen finished with nine points. Payton Craig had 28 for North Harrison.
Princeton Boys 60, North Harrison Boys 27
The Princeton boys jumped on North Harrison early, running out to an 18-3 first quarter lead and never looked back en route to a 33-point victory.
The Tigers (1-3) were led by Calvin Berwanger with 14 points and Cameron Jones with 13. Blaine Millburn also reached double figures, scoring 10 points.
Princeton plays host to Mercer on Friday for its next action. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
