The Grundy R-5 Junior High School basketball teams played host to Laredo’s seventh and eighth grade teams on Tuesday night in Newtown. Grundy won the girls contest 30-19, but Laredo took the boys game, 27-24.
In girls action, Grundy got 11 points from Abigail Mathews and Lillian Fordyce had six points and eight rebounds. For Laredo, Chandler Lynch scored eight points. The boys game saw Cooper Lewis lead Laredo with 14 points and Bo Meeker pitched in 10 points. Grundy got 14 points from Caden Gann.
Grundy’s junior high teams will close the season on Friday, traveling to Eagleville to take on North Harrison.
