Betty J. Loyd, 88-year-old former resident of Trenton and Jamesport, died on Saturday morning, Nov. 12, 2016 at Oakridge of Plattsburg in Plattsburg, where she had been a resident since May 2012.
Funeral services be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Stan Ebersold officiating. Burial will be in Humphreys Cemetery.
A family visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Loyd was born on Sept. 19, 1928 in Trenton, the daughter of Noel Arthur and Winfred Augusta McKay Clem. She attended Cherry Grove rural school and graduated from Humphreys High School in 1947. She worked for Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton before retiring.
She was a member of Galt Baptist Church in Galt, where she taught Sunday school.
She was married on Oct. 20, 1947 in Trenton to Charles Loyd, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2006.
Her survivors include one daughter, Jeanie Ingraham of Plattsburg; two sons, Gary Loyd and his wife, Neva Davidson of Trenton and Larry Loyd and his wife, Mona of Laredo; one brother, Robert Clem and his wife, Maurine of Trenton; nine grandchildren, Carrie Fordyce, Shannon Loyd, Steven Loyd, Jeff Ingraham, Sherry Ingraham, Lisa Costello, Craig Loyd, Kaleb Shiflett and Kari Jobe; and 10 great-grandchildren, Aaron Utt, Jacy Loyd , Dalton Loyd, Jena Loyd, Brycin Loyd, Cody Nye-Ingraham, Isaac Ingraham, Zoie Costello, Hannah Shiflett, and Lane Jobe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Stan Ingraham.
Memorials are suggested to the Humphreys Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home.
