The Tri-County R-7 Board of Education met Monday evening, setting the filing dates for the April 2017 election.
According to information provided by Superintendent David Probasco, those wishing to file for a seat in the April 4 board election may do so from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 13 through Jan. 17, 2017 in the district office. Candidates will not be able to file for office on days that school is not in session due to holidays, inclement weather, etc. The terms of Jeremy Turner and Aaron Lewis will expire, as will a position that had been held by Megan DeWitt and was later filled by Brandon Hoover when she resigned. All are three-year terms.
In other business, the board heard superintendent and principal reports, discussed the budget and potential areas of capital improvement and heard the first reading of an MSBA policy update. An executive session was held, with no announcement made.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7.
