Dale Lee Ratliff, an 89-year-old resident of Gilman City, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 at Liberty Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 at the First Baptist Church, Gilman City under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home of Bethany.
A family visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at the church.
Burial with military rites will follow the service in Christian Union Cemetery at Gilman City.
Mr. Ratliff was born Sept. 28, 1927 in the Coon Creek area of Grundy County, the son of Lee and Fay Long Ratliff.
On Sept. 25, 1949 he married Bonnie Huffman in Gilman City. She survives of the home.
Mr. Ratliff was a graduate of Gilman City High School and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gilman City, served on the Noel T. Adams Ambulance Board and was a former mayor of Gilman City. He also worked as a farmer and truck driver.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Vicki McKiddy of Jamesport and Jacki (Don) Duffy of Kearney; two sisters, Winifred Burrows of Gallatin, and Carolyn (Virgil) Griffin of Coffey; two brothers, Darrell (Deloris) Ratliff of Gilman City, and Jim (Linda) Ratliff of Bethany; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Vivion McAtee, Margaret Waterbury, Aville Robertson and Deloris Pierson.
