Sleep Over Planned

Oct 28, 2016 | Headline News

Trenton High School Key Club, in partnership with FCCLA and the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library, will host a Stuffed Animal Sleep Over at the library on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19.
Children in preschool through first grade are invited to bring a stuffed animal or doll to the Hoover Theater on Friday at 7:30 pm. Participants will read a bedtime story, enjoy a snack and receive a sleeping bag for the stuffed animal. While children are tucking in their animals, literacy expert Deb Young will give parents tips to promote reading at home. Werthen Gass will share information about NomNom ReadRead, a YouTube channel that provides books for children and parents.
Children and parents will return to Hoover Theater on Saturday at 9 a.m. to pick up their stuffed animals, watch a movie about the stuffed animals’ night of adventures in the library, receive a book and visit the children’s library.
Participants must return a registration form and $5 to their school office by Friday, Nov. 11 as this event is limited to the first 50 children. Registration forms were sent home from school with the children and can be found on the Trenton R-9 website and at the library. Persons can call Kara Helmandollar at 359-5966 with questions.
