Trenton placed fifth in its judging class for community awards at the Missouri Community Betterment competition, which were announced on Monday night.
Trenton competed in Category IV, which was won by Cameron. Cameron received the Gene Speichinger Community of the Year Award, which represents the outstanding community among the 21 entered in this year’s competition. Other category award winners were Mayview, Category 1; Albany, Category II; and St. James, Category III.
Receiving the top youth group awards were Galena, Category I; Steelville Category II; Louisiana, Category II; and Lamar, Category IV.
