Oct 25, 2016 | Headline News

The Building and Nuisance Board of the Trenton City Council met on Monday night, taking action on several items.
It was voted to send three properties owned by Troy Hanes to City Attorney Tara Walker for further legal action. The properties are located at Tinsman Avenue and Donaldson Street, the west side of Donaldson Street and 1309 Tinsman Ave. Also being sent to Ms. Walker for further legal action is property at 306 E. 10th Ct., owned by Steve Muff.
A public hearing was held on property at 1809 Cherry Lane, owned by Mike Arnold. Once repairs to the roof are completed, the property is to be considered abated and no other action will be taken. A second hearing on property at 2323 Webster Street, owned by Jeff, Chad and Tammy Corbin, was postponed so that a drainage issue can be discussed.
The board approved a declaration of nuisance for property at 817 E. 19th St., owned by Joseph Barker, and set it for public hearing in November. A second property at 1719 Oak St., owned by Cyndy and Lewis Benton, was postponed until bids for work on the structure can be obtained.
The board asked Building Inspector Donnie Vandevender to meet with the city attorney regarding what can be done to speed the legal process along on properties that have been in front of the board for at least a year.
