Employees of the Community Action Partnership of North Central Missouri presented the program at Thursday’s meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club. Joe Brinser was the program chairman.
The CAPNCM was formerly known as the Green Hills Community Action Agency, but has changed its name to better reflect the CAPNCM mission. CAPNCM covers a nine-county area, with the headquarters located in Trenton.
Tracy Fields and Savannah Summers told about the services offered, including community services, women’s health services, housing development, Missouri Works assistance, housing assistance, low income home energy assistance and weatherization. While CAPNCM does not have individual offices located in each of the counties served, Ms. Fields noted that personnel are available to travel to areas to provide assistance and that there are two “drop box” sites in each county where information and program applications can be obtained.
Ms. Summers talked about two upcoming activities which are fundraisers for the organization. The Zombie Run is being held this Saturday and the annual Women’s Expo will be held on Nov. 5, both in Trenton.
During the business meeting, Dr. Lenny Klaver was recognized as the club’s newest member. He transferred his membership from Michigan when he moved to Trenton to become the new president of North Central Missouri College.
Members interested in attending the District Conference Dinner on Nov. 5 were asked to sign up. The local club has 10 seats reserved at the event due to its donation to the Rotary Foundation.
Next week’s program chairman is L.D. Gibson.
