An additional activity has been added to this year’s Missouri Day Festival, thanks to the Trenton High School girls softball team, which will be playing its state quarterfinal game at Griffin Field on Saturday afternoon.
The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start and will feature Trenton taking on Lathrop to decide who advances to the Class 2 State Tournament next weekend in Springfield. With the game being played in the same area of the festival, fans are encouraged to come early for the game as parking will be limited. Carpooling is being encouraged.
Gates will open at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $7 and no passes will be allowed. While seating will be provided, fans are asked to bring lawn chairs for overflow seating in the outfield.
The area around Griffin Field will be fenced off to non-paying visitors and festival visitors and marching bands are being asked to travel around Johnson Field when walking from the fairgrounds/stadium area to the competition area at Trenton High School.
