Helen Whitney, a 93-year-old Trenton resident, died on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at the mortuary.
Mrs. Whitney was born on May 1, 1923 in rural Grundy County, the daughter of J.W. and Ruby Clifton Duncan. She was married on April 2, 1941 to Harry Dale Whitney, who preceded her in death on July 15, 2004.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Virginia Frey and her husband, John of Grandview; a son-in-law, David Stover; a daughter-in-law, Laura Whitney; grandchildren, Douglas and his wife, Jennifer, Machelle, Kevin and his wife, Kristy, Brian and his wife, Tawni, Michael and his wife, Angie, Nathan and his wife, Jamie, Natalie and her husband, Steve and Denise; great grandchildren, Zach and his wife, Jamie, Jenna and her husband Stan, RyLee, Ashley, Lillian, Skylar, Maci, Aaliyah, Addison, Azlyn, Rozlynn, Damon, Jayme, Collyn, Elexus, Erick, Nick, Justin, Emma, Logan, Kaylynn and Corbin; and a great-great-grandson, Jaxon.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Derald Whitney; and a daughter, Christine Stover.
