Marietta Weeks, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and trusted confidant went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at the age of 72.
Marietta stood strong, loud and proud for her family and friends. Marietta was born in Trenton on Sept. 13, 1944, attended Catholic school in Kansas City, and worked at Hostess Bakery while studying to be a beautician. She relocated to Albuquerque, NM in 1987 to begin a new business adventure and became the owner of “Private Home Care.”
Marietta is survived by her sister, Anita Smith; daughters, Regina Weeks and Paula Quick; granddaughters Gennifer (Fernando) Vallejos and Breanna Quick; and great-grandsons, Francisco and Santiago Vallejos. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Marietta was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila; parents, Ada and Delbert Hamilton; sister, Joyce Yoakum; and brothers, John and Gary Hamilton.
Marietta was an avid reader who enjoyed watching baseball and golf. She had a passion for her family, cooking, good music and a good laugh, which leads us to a celebration of her life that will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 at Chelwood Church, 2200 Chelwood Park Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Donations can be made in Marietta’s honor to the Albuquerque Rescue Mission 214 Coal SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
