According to the Trenton Police Department, residents worried about the recent “clown scare” sweeping the nation can rest easy.
Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright said the TPD has received one call reporting a clown sighting and has heard about two other incidents. Chief Wright said all three incidents involved teenagers and stressed that there have been “no homicidal clowns” reported in Trenton. With the wave of publicity concerning clown sightings, there is always the chance that someone will dress up as a joke. He noted his concern about that behavior because of the reaction the public might have.
“I would be very, very concerned with anyone who pretends to be a clown and scare people. It’s a very dangerous time to do so,” he said.
