Persons participating in the Wright Run 5K/10K on Saturday, Oct. 1 will be able to pick up their registration packets on Thursday, Sept. 29.
Packet pickup will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Hy-Vee for individuals who have already pre-registered for the race. The event will begin and end on the walking trail of the Wright Memorial Hospital. Proceeds from the event will be used for the purchase of equipment and improvements to the hospital.
For those who still want to participate, but have not registered, the cost is $30 and includes an official t-shirt and race bib.
Registration can be done at “ItsYourRace.com” or paper registrations are available at Grundy Electric Cooperative, Premier Eye Care, Hy-Vee, Hometown Pharmacy and the hospital.
Those forms can be brought to the race site on Oct. 1 for pre-registration at 7 a.m., with the race set to begin at 8 a.m. following the “Pink October Balloon Launch” at 7:45 a.m. in honor of those who have battled breast cancer.
In addition to the 5K/10K, a Kids Dash is being held for youth 10 and under at no cost. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite super hero costumes.
There will be temporary street closings from 8 to 10 a.m. at Highway Y, 28th street, Fisherman Road and Lake Trenton Drive, which are part of the route runners will takie. Parking for run participants will be available at the Red Barn parking lot, east of Iowa Boulevard.
