Thompson Research Center Holds Field Day

The Thompson Research Center near Spickard held its annual field day activities on Tuesday, with a number of topics addressed. In the top phto, Thompson Research Center Superintendent Rodney Geisert discussed modified genes in livestock while Jared Decker, assistant professor in the University of Missouri Division of Animal Sciences and an MU Extension specialist, pictured in the center, presented information on genomic application and research. Scott Brown, assistant extension professor in the MU Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, pictured below, related economic opportunities for Missouri cattle producers who are facing lower cattle prices.
