Lady Bulldogs Net Fifth Win, Top Brookfield 2-1

The Trenton High School volleyball team traveled to Brookfield on Monday night and returned home with its fifth victory of the season after topping the other Lady Bulldogs 27-25, 24-26, 25-11.
The match was as tight as could be during the first two games with both coming right down to the wire. In the decisive third game, however, Trenton dominated the home team, winning by 14 points.
Laura Carlson led the Lady Bulldogs, racking up 11 kills in the win. She also had three digs, an assist and an ace. Saedee Jackson added seven kills and also tallied six digs, four aces and a block. Karli Provorse added six kills and had nine digs and an ace to go along with them. Shawna Coplen handed out seven assists on the night while garnering one dig and Melea Farmer had six assists, five digs, two aces and a kill.
Trenton also got four aces, two kills and two digs from Brittany Wilson and Gilcy Ando had five digs. Mackenzie Klinginsmith had two aces, Allena Allen added a block and a kill and Grace Holcomb had one kill.
With the win, Trenton moved to 5-10 overall on the season.
Winners of two straight, Trenton will look to keep the momentum going tonight as the Lady Bulldogs play host to East Buchanan. Action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with the junior varsity contest and the varsity match-up will follow.
