Trenton Golfers Place Third At Chilli Tournament

The Trenton High School girls golf team wound up third on Thursday at the Chillicothe Tournament. The third-place finish came in a field of 15 teams – 13 varsity and two junior varsity – and was achieved with a team score of 414. Only champion Maryville (390) and runner-up Chillicothe (413) had better team marks.
Trenton was paced by Kaitlyn Mounce, who had a front-nine 47 and back-nine 48 to card a total of 95 for the tournament.
Werthen Gass shot a 102 with nine-hole splits of 47 and 55 to give Trenton its second-lowest total of the day. Lana Raymo went 55 on the front and 51 on the back for a 106 and Hannah Kennebeck rounded out the team total with a 111 after shooting a front-nine 60 and back-nine 51. Jordain Oshel was also in action for Trenton, carding a 115 after nine-hole totals of 56 and 59.
Kirksville’s 423 and LeBlond’s 434 rounded out the top five at the tournament.
Trenton will be back in tournament action at the Green Hills Golf Course on Monday competing in the Grand River Conference Tournament. That event tees off at 9 a.m.
