The Scrappy Quilters Quilt Guild will hold a quilt show as part of the Missouri Day Festival in October.
The show will be held at the former JC Penny building in the Eastgate Shopping Center. Show dates are 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16. Admission to the show will be $2, which will help the guild continue to bring quality quilt shows to the area.
There will be a judged competition and a non-judged competition with entry forms available at the Trenton Republican-Times, Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce or on the guild Facebook page – www.facebook.com/scrappyquilters. Categories this year are handquilted, machine quilted, wearable and table topper/wall hangings. Those attending will be able to vote on their favorite quilt for the “Viewer’s Choice” award.
The deadline to enter the paperwork for quilts is Wednesday, Oct. 5. Entry forms need to be sent to Kendra Cox at 402 SW Elm Lane, Trenton, MO 64683.
The quilt drop-off date will be on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Exact times for the drop off will be announced closer to the date of the show.
The show will feature not only quilts, but vendors, a silent auction, door prizes and demonstrations as well. The guild will also be selling chances to win an Opportunity Quilt made by the quilt members. This quilt will be on display in the coming weeks at local banks and members will also be selling tickets at the Hy-Vee store on Thursday, Sept. 29.
